dc.description.abstract1.0. Background Founded in 1953, the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet), commonly referred to as UNESCO Associated Schools, is a global network of 9900 educational institutions in 180 countries. Member institutions ranging from pre-schools, primary, secondary and vocational - schools to teacher training institutions - work in support of international understanding, peace, intercultural dialogue, sustainable development and quality education in practice. In Uganda, we have 25 schools registered in the network. Each of them is working on a thematic area of their choice selected from the three pillars of Education for Sustainable Development. Uganda National Commission for UNESCO (UNATCOM) does not only to provide leadership to schools, but also to offer them advice and guidance in respect of ESD. UNATCOM organizes camps once in a year. The schools that attended the 2014 camp were asked to develop work plans, so that the ideas of ASPnet resulted in a concrete and constant practice. Since no camp was held this year, a different approach of guiding the ASPnet schools was proposed by the Deputy Secretary General and National Coordinator of ASPnet, Ms. Rosie Agoi. The idea was to visit selected ASPnet schools, offer support supervision as well as document the school's good practices. The visit results are supposed to be shared with other NATCOMS and UNESCO as well as with other ASPnet schools to promote good practices among them.en_US
