D Government is committed to achieve the Education for All (EFA) goal number one "Expanding and improving comprehensive early childhood care and education especially for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children". To achieve this goal, Government will work with the private sector and communities. In order to ensure quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) services, ECD centres (Nursery schools, ECD Community Based, Home based and Day Care Centres) are required to have a Management Committee (MC). The Management Committee is responsible for the administration and efficient management of the school/centre in accordance with the law. In this session we will look at why we need a Management Committee, its composition, how members are elected and how it works with a headteacher/caregiver.en_US
