    Abstract
    1.0 INTRODUCTION 1. The workshop held at Speke Resort Munyonyo on March 22nd-23rd 2006, was the third Education and Sports Sector Planning and Budget Workshop after adop- tion by the 10th Education Sector Review to revert to an annual sector Review and Budget workshop. 2. The broad objective of the workshop was to discuss the Draft Education Sector Budget Framework Paper (BFP) for the period 2006/07-08/09 and budget esti- mates for FY 2006/07. 3. The specific objectives were to discuss the: (i) Key policy issues of the budget estimates for FY 2006/07; (ii) Proposed sector and sub-sectoral priorities, targets, outputs, funds alloca- tion and the funding gap; and, (iii) Outstanding/emerging issues and challenges in the medium term such as primary and secondary education curriculum review and universal post- primary education and training (UPPET)
