    Abstract
    1. This Aide Memoire is for the 4th Annual Education and Sports Sector Performance Review (AESSPR) but the 14th in a series of Education and Sports Sector Reviews (ESSRS) conducted under the Sector Wide Approach (SWAP). The theme of the workshop was "sustainable delivery and improved equitable access to quality Education and Sports in Uganda". 2. The Review used both field visits and a workshop approach, each lasting four working days. The field visits to educational institutions were undertaken in the five regions of the country (i.e. Northern, Eastern, Western, Central and Karamoja) with a view to assessing progress towards achieving sector objectives as highlighted by the Education and Sports Sector Annual Performance Report (ESSAPR). The workshop process, involved a mix of plenary and working group sessions. 3. The 14th Education and Sports Sector Review (ESSR) was a joint review involving key stakeholders of the education sector, drawn from Line Ministries, Civil Society, Parliament, Education Funding Agencies Group (EFAG), other Development Partners, District Local Governments, Local Authorities and private providers among others. 4. The objective of the Review was to assess the performance of the sector during FY 2006/07 and identify priority policy, strategy and operational issues to be considered in the planning and budgeting cycle for the subsequent financial year(s). 5. The 14th ESSR confirmed satisfactory progress towards implementation of the undertakings agreed in the November 2006, ESSR. This will now trigger the release of funds from the budget support funding agencies and African Development Bank (ADB) III.
